Update, these babies are getting so big!

I will post some pictures later today, but I thought I would give a quick update. I am still amazed that only a year ago they were so tiny that we were afraid to go to sleep for fear of something happening to them. Jimmy and I took shifts in staying up with them all night. We were so worried because when you go through the NICU experience, you realize how fragile these tiny beings are and when you finally get them home, there are no nurses, no monitors, no wires, tubes or anything else that helped you feel comfortable with the babies. Now you are home, on your own, and it's scary. So, fast forward a year and the worries haven't subsided, they have just changed. These days I'm worried about them getting hurt, and my worse fear is choking. They are both walking around like they've been doing it all their little lives. Emerson is actually running, every time. She goes full force and she means business! She falls and gets right back up like it's nothing. That's the part that scares me, she has no fear. Ryan is a bit more cautious, but he's always been so laid back it doesn't surprise me. He's just not in that big of a hurry! They are both doing so well interacting with each other. They play well together, except for the occasional tug of war on a toy they both want. Funny, you can have a house full of toys, but they want the one the other has at the time. My mom says, get used to it! haha! They both have teeth coming in and you can tell. They have been a little cranky and running slight fevers at night. They now have 4 on top and 4 on bottom. I think some of the back molars are coming in now too. Ouch! They can point to their nose (Emerson has accidentally discovered that there is a hole there to put her finger! Great!), eyes, hair, and ears. They know where something is, like if you say "where's Elmo?" they will go get their Elmo doll, or whatever you ask them to get. They love to "give", if you say "give it to mommy", they will hand you whatever they have. This goes for their food too, they love to give you their food, I think they like the silly noises I make when I take the food from them, they crack up. They are both sleeping so well, it's nice to get some good sleep these days. It's not every night, but for the most part they will stay asleep all night. Unfortunately the naps are getting shorter and shorter and I think they are on their way to dropping a nap (NOOOOO!) They both had colds recently, but I can't complain. It was the first time they were sick, and they were 13 months. Their first year was cold, sickness, ear infection free - and that is amazing with the rough start they had. I feel very blessed that they are so healthy. Well, speaking of the little rug rats, they are calling for me, so I'm gonna go play with my little sweeties!
