I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to update much. I still can't believe we made it to a year already! It's kind of sad to see them grow so fast. I see their little baby outfits from last year and I still can't believe they were so small. They have really grown so much already. At their one year check up, Emerson was 21 lbs and 31 inches. Ryan was 20 lbs and 29.5 inches. Yes, sister has outgrown her big brother, but I'm sure he'll catch up! They have been on the verge of walking for quite some time now. Emerson had actually taken up to 7 steps on her own, but mostly 2 or 3 then she falls. I think she is just not confident enough yet. Ryan has taken 1 or 2 steps at a time, and he's still trying to figure out if he can do it or not. They both stand without holding on to anything, and Emerson can get into standing position without holding on to anything - pretty impressive! Their language has really taken off over the last month. Emerson is saying Dada, Baba, Mama, and we think she is saying Santa, no, really! Everytime she sees a Santa she says "danta". I think because we have said it a thousand times to them. She babbles all day long, like she is having a conversation. Ryan says Dada, baba, mama (well, I've heard mama a couple of times anyway!) He also has been pointing at everything! When we say "where's the tree?" he points to the Christmas tree and he'll point to Mama, Dada, stockings(on the fireplace), light and fan. He also says "dat" whenever he is pointing to something. Emerson is still our little fiesty one - she loves music and she is a head banger anytime she hears it. She gets so excited! Ryan just learned to shake his head "no" - uh oh! He is getting to be a little fussier than usual, I think it's the separation anxiety setting in. Hmmm, I always wanted to be the center of someone's universe, well now that I am, I'm not so sure I like it! LOL Well, enjoy the pictures!

What am I supposed to do with this?
